From idea to launching and evaluation, Chora lays the groundwork to ensure that exhibitions will be thought-provoking, purposeful, successful—and under budget.
At Chora, we have over forty years of experience delivering high-quality, effective, audience-centered, interactive exhibitions, and related educational programs. Twenty-five of those years were spent at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, DC.
For us, effective exhibitions begin with a careful articulation of their purpose. Content and design come conceptually later. In an overarching Statement of Purpose, Chora suggests to its clients measurable educational objectives, core messages, and the targeted audiences for the exhibition. After designing the evaluation methodologies that will guide the development of the exhibition, Chora works with the design and curatorial teams to develop story lines, object and graphic inventories, and interpretative methodologies.
