New York City is perhaps the most competitive environment in the nation for a museum. Yet, the Museum of Arts and Design (MAD) was outperforming its peers locally and nationally at every earned-revenue category. Determining the next phase of growth for MAD in a recently renovated building was a distinctive challenge for its Board and leadership. How can one build on success? Chora helped bring into a sharp focus the opportunities that would re-define the identity for this museum over the next ten years. On the strength of a realistic yet ambitious board-led vision, MAD will continue to set an example financially and programmatically.
