From idea to launching and evaluation, Chora ensures that exhibitions will be thought-provoking, purposeful, successful—and in budget.
We have over forty years of experience delivering high-quality, proven-effective, audience-centered, interactive exhibitions, and educational programs. Twenty-five of those years were at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, DC.
For us, effective exhibitions begin with a careful articulation of their educational purpose followed by storyline and design. The statement of purpose details measurable educational objectives, prioritized central questions, core messages, and the targeted audiences for the exhibition. After designing the evaluation methodologies that will guide the development of an exhibition, Chora works with the design and curatorial teams to develop story lines, object and graphic inventories, and interpretative methodologies to deliver the objectives of the project to its intended audiences.
